La defense is the bussiness district of paris, well linked by metro, but so far of central paris and major tourist attractions - no street life (excuse my poor english)

The Mercure Parc at La Dfense isn%26#39;t actually in Paris as such but about a mile outside of the city. All this means really is that as soon as you walk out of the hotel you%26#39;ll be obliged to get a metro/train to take you into town to see any of the sites.

There%26#39;s a metro station just seconds away (line 1 cutting right through the city) but even better is the RER A which should get you to PAris in about 5 minutes and runs until 1am(ish).

Their website has all the information you%26#39;ll need regarding location and transport.

So while it%26#39;s not technically in Paris you%26#39;re still just minutes away from where ever you may want to go and the hotel will probably offer the comfort that you%26#39;d expect from a Mercure.
