Drinking in Paris

Does anyone know the minimum age for alcohol in Paris - both officially and practically?

Legally 16.

Practically....my 10 year old has been served a half glass in restaurants without our even asking and many of her friends know their favorite brand of champagne.

Thanks again Good2Go! My daughter is turning 16 in Paris - the reason for our trip. There must be clubs with age restrictions, yes?

nightclubs are _normally_ forbidden to people under 18, officially. but practically, lots of young people go in clubs, especially if they look older, but not in every nighclub. if you are with your daughter, she can go in with you with no pb. some clubs are known to have only young people in, i mean people between 14-15 and 18, like les planches, where you see young girls looking 15 smoking and drinking with no pb. if you are well dressed, it%26#39;s ok normally.
