I am going to be staying at the Holiday Inn Paris-Bussy St. Georges, BLVD Lagny Bussy St Georges, 77600, near Disneyland. I will travel into the city every day. Am I right in thinking that my hotel is in Zone 5? If so, would it be beneficial for me to purchase the Paris Visite for Zones 1-5 for 5 days, since I will be arriving on Saturday and depart on Wednesday? I%26#39;ve seen that most people think the Paris Visite is not a bargain, but since I will be traveling to Zone 5 everyday, twice a day, wouldn%26#39;t it be OK? I will also be going to Versailles. Thanks for any help you can give.

The Paris visite Zones 1-5 days is the best when you are in Paris Saturday to Wednesday.

Your post begs the question, if you are going into Paris everyday why stay out by Disneyland?
That said, I found the Paris Visite invaluable during my November trip to Paris. You can use it for getting around to various sites within central Paris too and for transportation from the airport.
|||
It depends too on if you%26#39;re actually going to use the Paris Visite card to get access to the sites offered. if you just wanted to use it to get around on the public transport then there%26#39;s probably a cheaper option.

You are one of the exceptions to the rule. A 5 day PARIS VISITE Zone 1-5 transportation pass costs--45,70 Euro. The cost of a single, round-trip ticket on the RER %26#39;A-4%26#39; train from Bussy-Saint George will be approx. 12 Euro. Make four(4) trips between your hotel and central Paris and you%26#39;re in for 48 Euro--without any Metro/bus useage while you%26#39;re touring around Paris. Do the math.

Thanks for all of the information! Some questions though, What do you mean by using the Paris Visite to get access to the sites oferred? What sites? I thought the Paris Visite was just for travel, metro, bus, funiclaire, etc. Can you use it for something else? In answer to Przyk%26#39;s question: FREE HOTEL ROOM, staying with friends, I am not interested in Disneyland, I will go into Paris everyday instead.

You are talking about the Carte Paris Visite that is offerd by the RATP. This is primarily a ticket for public transportation services, although you will get a booklet offering discounts to some tourist attractions (Seine cruises, Tour Montparnasse......)
I think that some people are confusing this with the Paris Carte Musee which offers 1, 3 or 5 days of unlimited free access to about 70 different museums in Paris, and with this card you don%26#39;t have to wait inline with the rest of the tourist plebes. The cards are about $25/day and have to be used consecutively.

Not %26#39;..free..%26#39; so much as a discounts ---it will get your a few free admissions/entries WITH the purchase of a regular admission at a few sights and attractions.

me and my wife are staying at this very hotel! we choose this mostly due to the cheap rooms...we have no desire in Disneyland either. Is this a bad location? How far out is it? how long will a average daily trip take to get to the city? We are buying the Carte Orange w/ 5 zones....is the Paris Viste better?
when are you goin posh? We will be there 3/1 to 3/8...we live in IA now but used to live in Sptbg, SC!

From the time you board the RER A-4 train at Bussy-Saint George until you get off at say Chatelet/Les Halles in central Paris, your train travel time is 36 minutes. Trains run every 15 minutes.
If your days of travel correspond with the days of weekly validity for the CARTE ORANGE Zone 1-5, it will be your best deal. A weekly (Monday through Sunday CARTE ORANGE Zone 1-5 costs 30,20 Euro. A five(5) consecutive calendar day PARIS VISITE Zone 1-5 cost 45,70 Euro.

I stayed at this hotel last month and used it mainly for Paris. There%26#39;s no problem in getting into Paris and takes about 35 min. If you get off at Chatalet, exit at the Rue de Rivoli signs, turn left and head towards the Hotel de Ville, straight along Rue de Rivoli, bear right and you%26#39;ll be at the Seine, near to the Notre Dame and just across from The Latin Quarter and Boulevard St Michael, a lovely spot.
If you get off the train at Auber, you can emerge into either Printemps or Galleries Lafayette Department Stores and you%26#39;ll then be in the main shopping area and Grand Magazins and near the Opera House.
At Bussy St Georges station there is a lovely cafe/boulangerie/patisserie where we had breakfast, the coffee and pastries are excellent, as are their baguettes.
I would use the hotel again, although you are slightly inconvenienced by the suburban location, I quite like getting this slice of French life and the savings are impressive. We travelled back late on the RER after dining in Paris and had no problems, the trains run until around 11.30p.m/12.00. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the station.
The Carte Orange is cheaper but you need to buy it on certain days and require a pass with a photo. For convenience I bought the Paris Visite Zone 1-5 as you simply buy them at the CDG station (or any station).
Hope this helps and have a wonderful holiday.
