You take a train from Gare de l%26#39;Est. There are several trains per day to Reims. We went in December two years ago. It is a grand trip we highly recommend. The train trip is 90 minutes. Taxis awaiting you as soon as you depart the station to take you anywhere you want - such as champagne houses for tasting, the Notre Dame Reims is fantastic with rich history and the quaint downtown is lovely.

The Cathedral is breathtaking anytime of year, and when is champagne ever unenjoyable. Plus you won%26#39;t have the swarms of summer tourists.

We will be in Paris at end of Feb and will be doing a day trip to Champagne. I was thinking of renting a car to drive from Paris to Reims but would prefer to avoid it, don%26#39;t like the motorcoach alternative though. I noticed a post about taxi%26#39;s at the station, does anyone know if there are people/companies at the train station who give tours of champagne testings, who can be hired for the day? Or does one just get a taxi at each place they tour?
Thanks!

It is quite easy to do this visit on your own... no need for a tour company. From the station take a cab to the Cathedral, and stop for a visit at the local tourist office (beside the cathedral) for more information to plan your day.

Can you catch these trains from the Nord station?

Nope, Gare de l%26#39;Est.
