laid back charming stays in provence

My family of four (two teens) is planning to stay in Provence for a week in July 2005. We would like a pleasant, not fancy, base for a week where we can cook the occasional meal, walk to small towns, have access to a swimming pool. Any ideas?

Tyoga - are you thinking a B%26amp;B or are you interested in renting a house or apartment and where abouts in Provence are you thinking?

During my stay in Greoux les bains, I have seen accomodations to rent with a charming swimming pool (very clean) and a wonderful view on Greoux castle. I visited one for my parents who planned to come next year in the area. All Studio with kitchenette have a large balcony. Good comfort, good prices.

You should check out the gites de france website and also homeholidays website. We found great homes to rent but you need to reserve soon as they often are reserved way in advance.

Our friends went last summer and stayed on L%26#39;Ile sur la Sorge and just loved the location...plenty of river sports in addition to the traditional holiday in Provence.
