Would any of you take a mini-van shuttle bus to the Hotel...

My %26quot;brilliant%26quot; husband booked us four nights at the Hotel Ritz during Valentine%26#39;s Day and scheduled us for mini-van shuttle bus pickup from de Gaulle to be driven to the Ritz. I told him that I didn%26#39;t think that was a good idea since I understand that this is a fancy hotel. Didn%26#39;t Princess Diana die here? I told him that maybe we should get a sedan pickup by the hotel or atleast take a taxi. He said that it is minutia and to not bother myself. I am not worried about it perse it is just that this is the nicest place we have ever stayed at and I am concerned about the service we will receive if we arrive this way. Otherise, I could care less. What would you guys do?

lol i would take a taxi, because yes ritz is a very very chic hotel, one of the palaces of paris. i dont think i would like to arrive with an airport shuttle but if i had no choice well...lol.

This is a classy place and they will receive you properly no matter how you arrive, as long as you are dressed properly. Have a great time and really, don%26#39;t worry about what the doorman thinks... it is his job to serve, not judge and as a pro he will act accordingly.

PS you may even endear yourselves in the eyes of the staff with your originality!

I think you will be alright, minivans are just big taxi these days and more comfortable.

Princess Diana left the Ritz the night of her death and was killed in a car accident in a tunnel down by the river. There is an unofficial memorial with a replica of the flame from the Stature of Liberty near the site.

Mrs martin

I really don%26#39;t think it matters what you arrive in. I have stayed at this hotel and the staff were lovely. Anyway he who pays the piper calls the tune and all that....

Have a fantastic trip

BTW Princess Diana didn%26#39;t actually die here, she had been dining here and died near the Pont D%26#39;alama

Actually Princess Dianna didn%26#39;t %26quot;die there%26quot; (in the Ritz). She left from the Ritz and died in one of the auto tunnels near the Seine on her way out of town.

Your husband may be surprised to find that the mini-van shuttle bus from CDG to the H. Ritz isn%26#39;t that much cheaper then hiring a taxi and the taxi will take you directly to the hotel, not give you a tour of Paris as it drops off the other passengers at less prestigious addresses.

If he%26#39;s opted for the Ritz, then he should at least arrive and depart in style. And yes, dress up a little. Its expected. An no, Princess Diana died in a car accident along the Seine, not at the hotel. She used to stay at the hotel, as does anyone who is someone when they visit Paris.

I don%26#39;t know about the mini van arrival but I have personal experience with the clothing issue, having walked through the lobby in Jeans and sneakers, It was pretty humiliating to have two security guards escort me out the door. So dress well.

Lucky you to be staying at the Ritz! I have only been fortunate enough to dine there, and it was an experience I will never forget.

I%26#39;m sure you will recieve excellent service no matter your mode of transport, but still I would take a taxi instead.

Another thing to consider is that you may have to wait lord knows how long at the airport to take a shuttle bus.
