Cartier? LV? Shopping...

I am looking to buy a high-end purse and am wondering if I would really be saving buying during my Easter trip to Paris instead of buying in the US...

Are prices significantly more interesting in Paris?

Frankly I don%26#39;t know but...if you are planning on doing any high-end shopping in Paris these days with the dollar as weak as it is against the Euro, you%26#39;d darn well better know what the prices are back inb Canada for whatever you%26#39;re interested in. There may be NO bargains at all.

I think that the brandnames may actually be cheaper at Holts these days, but what is interesting in Paris is that you can get some beautiful handmade bags that you can%26#39;t find anywhere else. There is a great little shop on the rue des St Peres. If you are heading up from the rue de Sevres it is a small little window on your right side, before you get to the next intersection.

beautiful bags, great quality...

Prices are not substantially lower than in Canada for this kind of stuff except they have a wider range of products than we have. Check the prices in Montreal, convert in euros the Montreal price then shop around. Try Le Bon Marche near St-Germain they have aVuitton concession or go the Vuitton store next door to Aux Deux Magots in St-Germain. If you really want good prices on luxury items, Nassau is the place to go not Paris.

We went to Paris for Christmas and of course I had to go to LV, I can honestly say that the prices were not that different from the U.S. The only difference is that they have more, and the crowds inside the store are unbearable. I found that other designer items are actually cheaper in the U.S. Especially at this time of year with all the sales going on. Unless you really have to buy a LV bag in Paris you might want to shop around in the U.S.

When you say Nassau, I assume you mean Nassau, Bahamas? Let me know quickly! My boyfriend is there until tomorrow so I%26#39;ll modify his schedule to accommodate my accessory need! ;-)
