Strollers and the E. Tower?

I don%26#39;t know if this is an issue, but I was just reading the official Eiffel Tower site and they mentioned this:

The Eiffel Tower as a well-frequented historical monument must ensure the safety of its visitors.

%26quot;On an exceptional basis, all or part of the visitor-accessible spaces could be closed and hand bags checked. No large-sized hand baggage nor animals will be allowed onto the monument except for Seeing Eye dogs. Furthermore, there is no baggage check service available at the Tower. %26quot;

My question, which I already sent an email to them and awaiting an answer, is: What about strollers? Will we be allowed to take one up?

Does anyone know about the increased security measures at E. Tower?

The security measures have been in effect for quite some time, and no, you will not be able to take your stroller up the touwer because of safety reasons.

It would be a little difficult carrying the stroller down the stairs we it comes time to leave.

We just returned from Paris and I did see a few people with strollers. There are elevators to take you up and down between the floors, you don%26#39;t have to take the stairs....

I finally heard back from the E. Tower and I can%26#39;t take a stroller up nor can I check it anywhere. So, I suppose it%26#39;s understandable. I then proceeded to ask if we would be allowed to bring up a backpack and they said you can not. Wow! I suppose you could bring in a large purse, but I wasn%26#39;t going to walk with one ont his trip. I%26#39;m glad I asked a head of time because I can imagine what a nightmare it could have been if we didn%26#39;t know!

It%26#39;s now a bit confusing...I have recieved correspondence from the officials at the E. Tower saying that I can not being a stroller. They never mentioned the fact that I can bring a %26quot;collapsable%26quot; one as mentioned in the FAQ on the official site. I wrote back to them and asked if this is true as our stroller does fold up quite compactly.

I have seen strollers on the Eiffel Tower and I found it shocking that they said no backpacks. I brought one there about a month ago when I took the kids ice skating and I was far from alone. The security measures were in full force and they had a guard there checking every bag, but they were definitely allowed. I am beginning to think that they are telling you what they prefer, not what they permit... you could always give it a try, and if you are refused, simply go up the tower in turns?

I am awaiting another email from them with the answer to the collapsable stroller and what consitutes a acceptable size. I agree with you, they are just saying what they prefer. I%26#39;m wondering if they have had new security measures go into effect for the new year? Well, it all seems SUPER odd that you can%26#39;t even bring a backpack!?!
