Travel from Charles De Gaulle in to Paris

Can anyone advise on the best way to travel from Charles De Gaulle into Paris, specifically Place de Clichy? The last time I was in Paris I was 5 years old (I am now 33!) so I am at a total loss as to how easy it is to get around, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I will be in Paris for the first time from Feb. 5-18th and Im 28. Can%26#39;t wait!

Now, here is the company that I am using www.parishuttle.com.

I am paying 32 euros ROUND TRIP from airport to hotel and back for 2 people (about $21ea.).

It was the cheapest I found, because I noticed that most of the other companies charge almost double the amount. They pick you up from the gate.

Have a wonderful trip!

Go to Parishuttle.com and they bring you from the airport to your hotel for 16 euros single. You can also book it for return. This is the best wy of gettin into Paris as you dont have to worry about what train or bus to get and they will also find your hotel for you. You have to reserve at least 24 hrs beforehand on the internet but its handy and hassle free.

If your hotel is near the Opera area or near the larger shopping Malls then you can get the Roissy bus for 8 euros and it will bring u straight to it.

Information in the Aiport is excellent and the staff are very friendly and etremely helpful

Armaghtraveller,

Did you have a good experience with this company? They%26#39;re taking me very near to Place Republique, and picking me up on the last day back to the airport. Did they pick up more people and made more stops?

Any suggestions? or little details you can share?

Thank you,

Janette

Hello,

Am I missing something? When I went to parisshuttle, I saw rates of 25e for one person, 19e for 2 to 4 people. Have always paid about that on trips in. Have you found someplace on that site that have better rates?

By the way Double, you get the shuttle right out in front of the airport. The service will tell you which exit to meet them when you call them, toll free. Sometimes you may have to wait a little while, but it is a good service and excellent too, on your way back to the airport. Van carries as many as 8 people to drop off.

Thanks for your advice so far guys - I%26#39;ve just been on the paris shuttle site and have been quoted 76 euros for 2 people - this seems a lot to me - perhaps because of the distance? I don%26#39;t mind travelling by public transport - train, etc - will research more and appreciate more help - thanks Armagh, at least I know staff are helpful at airport, if all else fails!

We use Parisshuttle often. It is an 8 passenger van and I am quite sure will take you right to your hotel door, unless somehow you got some other arrangement with them. They did ask that you telephone them when you are collecting your luggage, toll free, didnt they? Be sure to have that phone number handy, people at the airport probably will not know it. You just go outside to the numbered exit they tell you and wait for them. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but sometimes they will be right there. Usually the driver speaks at least some English and other passengers in the van are often interesting and you might even make some friends. Depending on the van route, you might get a bit of a tour of Paris as he drops off others.

On the way back to the airport, the van will pick you up right at your hotel at least 3 1/2 hours (maybe more) before your flight. They will telephone you when they are close to your hotel and expect that you will be ready with your luggage to hop on the van. You need to be at the airport at least 2 hours before flite time and it takes a good hour, maybe more, to get there from Paris. After you check in there, which sometimes is a %26quot;mob%26quot; scene, you can have breakfast, look at the shops, buy magazines, etc., until time to board your plane home, so if you should get into the airport a bit early there are things to do.

Bea, thanks sooo much!

Yes, they asked me to call that number when we get there.

Now, I%26#39;ve just checked my voucher and yes, they are charging me 32 euros for 2 people ROUND-TRIP. I don%26#39;t understand why is it that they have quoted some people with very high prices.

I am leaving for Paris on feb. 4, but I%26#39;ve been planning this trip since last September (4 months).

How much should I tip the driver?

Besitos,

Your welcome. Dont know if they will stick to that roundtrip price........it does seem as if they made a mistake.......but maybe you will get a bargain. You tip the driver as you would a cabbie, (I dont take cabs so what would that be... 10 %?)depends on the amount of luggage and how good he is,too.
