Air India?? & Museum Pass?

Has anyone flown to Paris (or anywhere else for that matter) on AirIndia? I%26#39;m looking at some hotel/flight packages and there%26#39;s about $200 difference between two where the only other difference is the cheaper is flown AirIndia. I%26#39;m not sure why there would be such a big monetary difference other than cheaper airfare so I want to know if anyone has flown it. What is the quality of the airline? If anyone has any info I%26#39;d appreciate it. Thank you!

Also what is the price to buy a 5 day museum pass in Paris? I can buy one with my package for $78. Should I do that now or when i get to Paris in May? I%26#39;d looked into it a little on the internet and thought it was about the same pricerange, correct me if i%26#39;m wrong.

It%26#39;s probably too late to be any help to Beckalees, but perhaps this can benefit someone else out there.

I for one would think long and hard before going with Air India, even for $200 less. I%26#39;ve had several family members travel Air India, and nearly every time, luggage has been lost, and in one instance, was never recovered. My brother-in-law traveled to Bombay from Houston, via Paris, with Air India just over a year ago. He saved about $100 by booking with them, but on the return flight, they had overbooked (or had mechanical issues - I forget which), and he ended up stalled in NYC for an extra 24 hours, with no lodging or cash being provided as recompense for his trouble. He had to lose much more than he saved, since he had to get a hotel room and take an extra day of unpaid leave from work.

Just a cautionary note.

yeah thats true i forgot about problems like that.

so i guess if you want to be safe and you have the money, spend it on a %26quot;safer%26quot; airline.

also, a side warning about america airlines... i know sometimes you gotta take it, but they lost our luggage also on a one week vacation to dubai (beautiful place). they were no help in finding it, the people at Dubai airport were MUCH more helpful and were able to track down the bags ... one arrived half way through the trip, 2 others arrived a couple days later. and one we didnt get until about 2 weeks after we got BACK IN TO TEXAS.

and they only offered us $100 compensation for the full family (5 people).

another friend of mine had their luggage lost on american airlines too... it was recovered eventually... but just be cautious.... dont check in luggage unless you really need to, and have really good tags on everything.
