I%26#39;m a high school teacher traveling with 7 students to Paris (first time for all) in June. We are not sure if we should stay in a hotel or try for apartment. We are from a small public school and trying to keep costs reasonable is very important as all of these students are working afterschool jobs to pay for their own ways. Any advice from experts would help. Thank you.

The real advantage for choosing an apartment is that you will save on food costs. Check out vacationinparis.com. They have some studios and one bedroom apartments in the same buildings. They also had some two bedroom apartments. We stayed in one of their apartments last year called the Louvre Loft. Although it would be a bit crowded you could sleep 4 people in it, as it had a double bed and a double Fouton. There are other agenciis on the web you can check out. I%26#39;ve heard NYhabitat is a good one.

On a per night basis, apartments tend to be cheaper than hotel rooms, and you have more space to feel like you can hang out.
I agree with the post above, there is a considerable savings in the food budget. It also provides a great opportunity to go to a traditional market and follow some french recipes!

We try to rent a house or apartment wherever we go. We have two kids and sometimes other family members with us. To get separate hotel rooms can be much too costly. We all love the convenience of staying in a home and cooking facilites are great, as well as laundry. We also feel that living more like the locals is a wonderful educational experience.
Try looking for private party rentals at:

We rented an apartment in the 5th over Christmas break: www.ruemonge.net It sleeps 7 (2 on a fold out couch) but is really a nice space. I agree, it is nice to have a place to hangout with that many and there are times it is much nicer to have breakfast at %26quot;home%26quot; rather than all go in search of somewhere to eat that you all agree on.
