place for birthday dinner?

it%26#39;s my friends 30th birthday and i want to take her some place fun and (she likes) hip/trendy for dinner. any suggestions?

I sound a bit like a broken record, but for hip and trendy and good food, I would try (in descending order of price): Maison Blanche in the 8th, Relais Plaza at the Plaza Athenee in the 8th or L%26#39;Angle du Faubourg in the 8th.

For restaurants that are very, very trendy but have just OK (not bad) cuisine try L%26#39;Avenue on Avenue Montaigne in the 8th or Georges on top of the Pompidou Center in the 2nd. Owned by the same brothers what they lack in cuisine they make up for in style.
