It is good. Order the duck, they are famous for the recipe.

Bring a lot of cash. They don%26#39;t call it la Tour d%26#39;Argent for nothing.

It is one of the very best restaurants in Paris--with 2 Micheli stars to its credit. The food is excellent and theis establishmenthas one of the very best views in Paris--looking down along the Seine and the softly illuminated Notre Dame. Their specialite de la maison is their pressed duck (each one comes with its own numbered tag) but the rest of the menu is equally wonderful.

Does anyone have the website for La Tour D%26#39;argent?

Thanks

I want to go there too but I noticed the lunch was much cheaper! Do you think we will lose the ambiance if we choose the lunch instead?

Yes, La Tour d%26#39;Argent is a haute cuisine temple of classic French cuisine with one of the richest histories. The food is excellent, but going there is also about experiencing every other aspect of the meal. The restaurant is famed as well for turning out some of the greatest chefs of classic French cuisine in the world. You must have the duck, which is their signature dish. I must admit that they probably do rest a little bit on their historic reputation, and the food is not quite as ambitiously perfect as it once was. But it%26#39;s still one of the best meals you will ever have, and you should in fact definitely expect to pay big bucks for the experience.

Susanaq27, one of the best ways to experience these temples of haute cuisine if you don%26#39;t want to pay $400 or more dollars for two is in fact to go for lunch. Yes, it won%26#39;t be quite as extravagant an affair, but it will still be excellent at a fraction of the price. You can still order a fantastic tasting menu at lunch that will be very enjoyable.

My other favorite temples of fine cuisine are:

1) Taillevent

2) Pierre Gagnaire

3) Guy Savoy

4) Le Cinq

5) Le Grand Vefour

For a little less money but still with the highest standards of fine dining, try L%26#39;Astrance (now serving only a prix-fixe menu) or Jacques Cagna.

I actually prefer lunch in these restaurants... the meals are long and very filling and I really appreciate having several hours to walk it all off. The view will be different, but equally stunning.
