Is Hotel du Louvre very 'touristy"?

I read that it was popular with North American tourists and I was hoping for a hotel closeto the Louvre that wasn%26#39;t %26quot;touristy%26quot;. My price range is $500 a night.

You are better off at the Meurice, Intercontinental or perhaps even the Ritz at those prices.

I%26#39;d worry if a hotel wasn%26#39;t touristy....there would be a good reason for it!

Yeah, it is pretty rare for locals to stay at a hotel, unless their house has burnt down, or their wife has kicked them out. SO,All of the hotels mentioned are near the Louvre, which is a touristy area, that is to say there is not a lot of neighborhood life going on around that area, markets, cafes full of locals, etc...

If that%26#39;s what you are looking for, try the Relais Christine in the Latin Quarter. High end, but in a real neighborhood.
