Overnight Trips From Paris

Going to Paris in March for a week and wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an overnight trip?

Would like to travel by train somewhere and spend the night in a small hotel/inn/b%26amp;b. Loire Valley perhaps?

Are there any tour companies that provide this type of service?

Any suggestions welcome...thanks!

How about Brugges, Belgium? If I had the time I would have done that. Or, out by Normandy beaches for D-Day tour and tour of the coastal area. Actually, you can do both in a day and not have to spend the night there if you don%26#39;t want to. I loved Senlis--another day-trip. Have fun!

Another options is Beaune, France. Beautiful small French town south of Paris a couple of hours. My favorite place to stay is Hotel Le Cep.

You should consider taking a train to Epernay--It is only about an hour and a half directly from Paris. It is a lovely small city and you can take a great tour of Moet %26amp; Chandon while you are there as well as other Champagne houses. We did it and enjoyed ourselves immensely--especially the Moet tour.

The two most popular suggestions on this site seem to be Mont St Michel on the Normand Brittany border or Reims and the champagne region. Reims is the easiest by train, but Mont St Michel is spellbinding, particularly if you spend the night on the medieval mount.

The Loire Valley is lovely and easy to do for the day, but it is difficult to get to most of the chateaux by train. One exception would be to take the train to Amboise. There is a lovely chateau in the town, as well as the home where Da Vinci spent his final days.

These trips are all easy enough that you don%26#39;t need a tour company.
