ATM in airport

If I arrive at CDG with no Euros and have already pre-paid transportation to hotel, should I exchange a little money at airport or can I make it to hotel without using euros? Are ATM%26#39;s accesible in airport. Planning to load up my checking account and use my debit card for everything.

Yes, there are ATMs at CGD. You should have at least a couple of euros to tip the driver. You should only take out as much as you need for pocket money for three or four days at a time, say 100 to 140 euros. Use you CC for the rest.

We arrived at CDG airport with no euros in our pocket last week and had to withdraw money from an ATM right away for Roissybus to our hotel. NO PROBLEM. If you are arriving at Terminal 1 of CDG, the ATM is located on the lowest level next to the food court. We withdrew enough cash for the entire trip so that we didn%26#39;t have to keep visiting ATMs. Using a credit card whenever we could enabled us to manage a 5-day trip with only one ATM withdrawal at the airport.

With pre-paid airport transfers, I suppose you could get from the airport to your hotel without having any Euros in your pocket, but perhaps the question is, %26quot;..Should you?..%26quot;. If you do not want to take the relatively small exchange rate %26#39;hit%26#39; at a Bureau de Change at your US departure airport for $100 or so of Euros for immediate %26#39;arrival/convenience%26#39; cash, then find an ATM at CDG and withdraw some there.

I%26#39;m not sure what your local bank%26#39;s security systems are like, but if you plan to rely on ATM, ATM/Debit and credit cards for the purchase of goods %26amp; services in Paris, you should inform your bank and credit card companies that you will be traveling abroad so that their internal security protocols do not misinterpret your foreign purchases as %26quot;..unusual useage..%26#39; and %26#39;freeze%26#39; your card(s).

I agree with Kdsail... I work at a bank in customer service and this type of thing happens all the time.. account will be %26quot;frozen %26quot; until the loss area can confirm that the charges are yours.. and when you are in another time zone can sometimes be diffucult to get in touch with the area of your bank that can lift the restriction.. in the meantime your %26quot;out of luck%26quot; Occasionally a card will be %26quot;swallowed%26quot; by the atm machine.. and most banks will NOT return the card.. then you are stuck without access to any $$.. Believe me this happens%26gt;%26gt; A lot.. always bring more than one source of money when traveling is the best advice.

I take a few Euro with me just for emergencies and use my ATM for everything else. Definitely notify your bank and credit card companies about the overseas charges. Other than that I was all over France for 20 days and never had any problems with my ATM or credit cards.

The ATM%26#39;s in the airport are notoriously unreliable. If you can, put everything on a credit card until you get into the city.

Go Noles!...........Use your ATM at CDG, but like others say, contact your bank and credit card companies to let them know you%26#39;ll be travelling and the dates of travel. Also ask your bank what your daily limit of withdrawals will be.

A fellow FSU graduate..............Au revoir. Bonne chance.
