Did anyone ever hear of a place called Tatti or Tatti%26#39;s for shopping in Paris? My friend heard about it on TV but I can%26#39;t find any information over the net.

It%26#39;s spelled Tati. That might be why you had a problem finding it!

Tati was a low cost (and low quality!) chain of shops, that ran out of business some month ago.

I wouldn%26#39;t recommend it as a good place for quality products anyway!!

I always guessed that they got the name from the English slang %26#39;tat%26#39; meaning...rubbish :)

Made KMart look high end...

but I didn%26#39;t know that they%26#39;d gone out of business. That%26#39;s pretty fast, as they were just purchased in August, Le Monde doesn%26#39;t have an archive of the closing (just lots of lay offs) and the site is still up, but not really working. hmmm.....

Now this is where this site really scores. KDKSAIL may be OK for the old A to B stuff but not much else. For real local knowledge you need a someone on the ground.

tati still works, i have a shop near where i live, and it%26#39;s still open, as other tati shops i saw on my way.

When we were in Paris last September Tati%26#39;s here and there were still opened. The big one on place de Republic had closed a couple years ago, but a smaller one down on blvd de Temple was still operating. Have not been to the wild ones below Sacre Coeur on blvd de Rochechouart for almost a year, but it seemed as if they were concentrating in that area??? (several buildings with a couple of floors in some).

If they are still operating they are wild. Worse than Kleins on the Square in NYC every was!....but fun and there are some good bargains, I guess.
