Museum Lines

How early do I have to get up if I want to go to the Louvre, are the lines to get in really that long?

Why not just purchase a museum pass and sleep as late as you want? Not that you%26#39;d likely sleep late in Paris, but still I think the museum pass saves much headache. All of the lines that I have everwitnessed at the Louvre have been horrendous.

It depends on what time of year you are visiting. Summer is the worst. If you can hit the museums on the nights they stay open late you will have no lines and as for the rest of the day, it is usually best to get there about 45 minutes after the opening. The early birds have gone in already and those who require their beauty sleep are still at breakfast.
