brussels, brugges or another day trip

we will be in paris in mid-march for a week. we are planning a day trip to paris and we would also like to do another day trip while we are there. we have a 10-year old adventurous daughter with us. should we go to brussels, brugges or someplace else?

i appreciate your advice.

There are dozens of day trips that you could organize. It depends on what you are looking for and how you%26#39;ll be traveling. The most impressive day trip we have taken the kids on has been to Mont St Michel and St Malo. Brussels was just another European city to them (although the comic book museum did impress).

At Mont St Michel you have a beautiful site, astonishing nature, great food (la Mere Poulard for one the best omelettes on the planet, and St Malo for delicious crepes), plenty of spectacular scenery and history galore.

Haven%26#39;t tried Brugges with them yet, but my guess is that the canals are sure to please and it is terminally quaint.

thank you so much for your advice. can you get there by train? or is there a tour company that would go there. we won%26#39;t have a car.

thanks again!

TGV to Brussels is fast and inexpensive. Look on the SNCF site or go on www.raileurope.com for US prices if you wanna buy your tickets in advance

Brugges is a better alternative to Brussels.

Brugges is a wonderful town but I%26#39;m not sure it would keep a 10 year old interested. Brussels be a better choice even though I love Brugges.
