I had one for the commemoration of Napoleon%26#39;s coronation... we spent 45 minutes before Jean Louis David%26#39;s painting of the event and I could have stayed longer if my husband hadn%26#39;t gotten a tad antsy.
If you are particularly fond of a specific period in art history or artist and you find an expert giving tours, this is certainly worth the time/expense.
If you just want a general overview of the collection with some background info on the primary pieces, the audio guides should be enough.
