Young couple looking for hotel suggestions in Latin Quarter...

Young couple traveling to Paris for first time and looking to stay in the Latin Quarter area. First off, is this a recommended area?? What do you suggest? Also, what moderately priced hotels have folks stayed at and actually enjoyed?? PLEASE help - leaving and need to book soon!!!

Yes, the Latin Quarter is an excellent location for the first time visitor to Paris.

What%26#39;s your budget? There are a number of choices, but I can%26#39;t personally recommend anything less then 3-stars for comfort except for one small, 2-star hotel that is actually in St. Germain des Pres, on Rue de Bac. It is an excellent hotel for someone on a tight budget who wants to be in a great location, a 10 minute stroll to the Latin Quarter.

Hotel de Nevers, 83 rue de Bac.

If you don%26#39;t like this hotel, then you can check the following web site for other hotels. You might also be able to find some last minute deals.

latin quarter is a nice area to stay. i am going to be staying there when i visit too, but my budget is pretty low ... i didnt look at anything over 110 euros/night

the hotel i chose was 81 euors/night

If you are on a pretty tight budget like me then email me at longhornneil@hotmail.com and i will send you the list of hotels that were in my budget that seemed nice and had good reviews.

If you can afford something more expensive then go for it, and your hotel will be nicer and all that good stuff :P

Thanks for responding so quickly! Yes I%26#39;m on a rather tight budget because I%26#39;m actually just staying for one night. Ideally, I%26#39;d like to spend no more than $120 (USD). But who knows maybe I%26#39;ll find a bargain so folks please give me any suggestions/advice you may have. Thanks again!

I booked the Hotel St. Jacques for the last week of April. It looks nice on the website and it has (overall) very favourable reviews on this site.

We%26#39;re paying 115 euros for two beds.

Mamita819,

I%26#39;ve stayed the past two years at the Hotel Claude Bernard

in the Latin Quarter. Safe area.

Comfortable, helpful staff, close to the metro

and a quaint place across the street for coffee

and pastries. About 2 blocks from the Sorbonne.
