Please help! I can't decide between Hotel Meurice or Hotel...

We will be there for 4 days and we anticipate spending at least 3 days at the Louvre. Does anyone know which is a better location as far as being near the Louvre ? Also does anyone know which has a more relaxed atmosphere?

We hate stuffy, ceremonious hotels.

The Meurice is opposite the Louvre Museum(3-4min from the entrance) and the Crillon a 10min walk. They are palace hotels and members of the LHW so they are descreet. The Meurice is located near the Place Vendome jewellery shops and the Crillon near the boutiques of Faubopurg St-Honore. Les Ambassadeurs at the Crillon is one of the best restaurants in Paris: last but not least the Hotel Meurice has a bit more modern design than the Crillon. Both of them are excellent, the final decision it%26#39;s up to you!

The Meurice is closer to the Louvre, but it has a very stuffy environment, although I get from their website that they are going all out to attract a younger, hipper crowd.

The Crillon, is also has a stuffy gild interior, but with more light and, in my opinion, more approachable. I would choose it over the Meurice.

Personally I love the Relais Christine for its friendly, comfortable environment, incredible service and excellent location. Then again, I%26#39;ll always choose the lesser known, off the beaten path kind of retreats and I%26#39;m a sucker for a place with a garden.
