Flying into Paris out of Toulouse-train, airport, car...

We are flying into Paris and we plan to take the RER from CDG to Gare du Nord and hook up with the 5 to Gare de L%26#39;est that will eventually get us to the 7 to Cadet stop. If I purchase a pass visite--can I use it for all of this trip? I assume I would have to purchase one that is zone 1-5? We have 5 people and we will be going also out to Versailles for a day...better to purchase zone 1-3 and just buy the tickets separately for the airport and Versailles?

We take the TGV to Toulouse on a Wednesday, leaving around 8 AM--is it better to purchase these tickets online before we leave or when we are at the station?

We will be flying out of Toulouse in a few weeks on a Sunday. Does anyone know the hours that the airport is open? Our flight departs at 7:25 AM and I don%26#39;t want to show up 2 hours early, to wait on the curb!

I assume Avis has a drop box for the rental car key? Has anyone had experience with dropping off a car this way in Toulouse or any other France location?

If you are traveling with a part of five, you will find that rather than purchasing a Zone 1-5 pass and taking the RER/Metro transfer from CDG to your final destination in Paris, you will probably find that even with the 2,60 Euro ea. surcharge for teo(2) additional passengers and ,90 Euro surcharge for bags, a taxi will probably be your best and most convenient bet. You might have to wait a few minutes at the regular taxi rank until a mini-van taxi is available...but it seldom takes long. Then purchase Zone 1-3 passes and separate RER tickets Paris/Versailles.

Sorry...don%26#39;t know the hours of Aeroport Toulouse, but perhaps this will help-- www.toulouse.aeroport.fr/US/default.asp…

For the train to Toulouse, since you have a fixed itinerary, you will most likely be better off pre-purchasing your tickets on-line to make sure that you will qualify for the PREMS discount fares. Check the price difference per ticket at the SNCF web site-- www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvHomePage…

Use this coming Wednesday as your date of departure to get one price and then use any WEDNESDAY at least thirty(30)--but no more than sixty(60) days in advance to check for discount fares.

Everything that KDKSAIL said :)

When you pre-book your tickets on the web, you can retrive them from the station but will need the credit card that you used to pay for them.

This point is IMPORTANT enough to bear repeating. When you book your SNCF tickets on-line, you will be given a RESERVATION CONFIRMATION NUMBER. To collect your tickets ate ANY SNCF train station in pParis, all you need to do is give them this Confirmation Number AND the SAME credit card that you used to book the reservation originally. It MUST be the same cretit card.

Within the past couple of years, thet SNCF has begun a practice of allowing you to PRINT OUT your own train tickets on your own computer when you order them on-line---BUT this feature is NOT available for ALL Fare Categories. But it is available for the lowest priced, non refundable/non-transferable PREM%26#39;S discount fares---which will be the lowest fare in the mix and the one you%26#39;ll want to get by ordering (at least 30 but no more than 60 days) in-advance. If your fare category allows you to print out your tickets on your own computer, then you can by-pass the ticket window and go directly to your train as if you had a conventional ticket.

Cybertraveler,

Are you sure you want to take the TGV to Toulouse? It is GV (high speed) only to Bordeaux, after that it%26#39;s a normal speed section. This means that it takes around 5 to 6 hours to do the whole trip.. I go very very often to Toulouse and the plane is by far the best way to go there (50 mins + 15 mins for check-in with an e-ticket)!

Toulouse Airport opens at 6 am, if you take an domestic flight you can be there 30 minutes before the departure, not two hours as for an international flight.

Yeah I had forgot about flying there.

It shouldn%26#39;t be too expensive (100euro?) and you can check prices on the same site that you book the train, www.voyages-sncf.com

My son is a huge train fan (age 9) and really wants to ride a high speed train--We also like the idea of seeing the country a bit more than flying. I don%26#39;t imagine you see much on the high speed, but we will on the regular train portion.
